Battery terminals.....
#1
Now Honest John doesn't have a very high opinion of Tudor batteries as he says they are prone to spraying acid out through the breather.
I can get a very nice Varta new for a good price but I need to know how those battery terminals work!! They don't look particularly strong and I really don't want to break one!!

EDIT: That wasn't worded very well....What I was referring to are the clamps on the battery lead ends. They look a little strange.

Hi O.J. On my berlingo(57 reg) the -ve is conventional, but the +ve lifts up to release. It looks quite flimsy & I intend to fit a real terminal when the battery need renewing.Hope this helps.

Think the quick-release looks a useful feature.
Bought this battery for about £40 from local auto-electrical dealer.

Dont see have its possible to break a battery terminal, as the neg is a 8 or 10mm nut and the pos is a quick release thing, just lift the black lever

Thanks guys! It was the unfamiliar appearance of that clamp which was causing me some concern. I think I may be changing it to a conventional type.

So it's now all done.....I had a virtually unused VW (Varta/Bosch) battery from my Passat 2.0TDi lurking in the garage so I had it checked and it was
fine so it's now been fitted and although it's a bit longer than the OEM there's no problem getting it in the tray or fastening it.
77Ah and 780CCA......spins the engine up a treat!

Today Nick from Cit-Tech fitted reversing sensors and I hope that will be the end of any expense for a bit. We talked about
re-mapping the ECU but although it will increase the power/torque from 92 bhp to 128bhp and give slightly better fuel consumption /top
speed I really don't do enough mileage to make this a worthwhile modification. Still thinking on it.... Confusedcratch:
