Anyone fitted a Fire extinguisher

hey guys

after a recent engine fire on a company truck I have considered mounting a fire extinguisher in the car has anyone else done this and if so where? any pictures would be appreciated

I couldn't decide where to put mine,so i keep it in the draw below the drivers seat.You could put it either side in the boot but it could get knocked about when loading or unloading.

that's a good idea I have one of those van vaults in my boot so had considered bolting it to that.

was hoping someone had come up with a great place to mount it time will tell I guess

In my Mk3 mine wedges nicely in the passenger door storage area. I still have to pack it with a cloth to stop it rattling once it's in. Do sometimes wonder how safe this option would be, though, in the event of a prang.

Mine is temporarily wedged in behind the front passenger seat...

A good rule is to keep it very easy to reach.
If it takes more than 10 seconds to get to it, it's too late.

Remember, engine fires tends to grow big FAST. And there's a lot of really poisonous materials in that end of the car.
So if you're not spraying down the fire within 10 seconds, you should be running.
