As the title. I took a policy out with this lot and their practices are to say the least questionable. Google Be Wiser complaints. There's lots of reading there for you.
I will be steering well clear of them in future.
It goes like this,
1, Buy a policy but stipulate zero NCD.
2, They send the policy with 9 years NCD!
3, You complain.
4, They tell you the policy will be £XYZ more expensive because the original policy was for 9 years NCD.
5, You can cancel but it will cost.
Double Wammy.
Not nice.

Is this a big con , ?
If you claim on it do they refuse to pay out because the policy you took out had 9 years NCD when in fact you had none ?

Have you got the time and date you rang them up for a quote and maybe the first name of the person you spoke to they will have recorded it get a team leader to check it and if you are right they will cover you for that price or a refund
You can ask for a copy of the recording

Every time I have changed insurers in 38 years of bike riding and car and van driving I have been asked for proof of NCD, do they not do this any more? Haven't changed insurers for several years now.

The last time i changed insurers they asked for proof of NCD. They asked for a copy of the renewal notice. So they said anyway , my new insurer was maybe wanting to know what my old insurer was charging me.
