Berlingo On the Road Figures
#1
I went back to the DVLA recently asking for figures about the number of Citroen Berlingo, Multispace and Peugeot equivalents on the roads of the UK. They directed me to the DfT who provided me with the excel spreadsheet below which dates from 1996 to Q2 2011. I wanted specifics, but something was better than nothing.

I spent a good while manipulating and interpreting the data to then realise that the site How Many Left pretty much reflected all the same figures that i had found, but in a much smarter way.

Attached the document for all. It has all vehicles in there, not just the Berlingo.

Looking at the Berlingo

Now I know that the data on How Many Left? is correct, thought it best to just quickly explain two of their main graphs shown here. It took me a little while to fully understand so to save you the bother, read on.

This graph shows how many Berlingo vehicles (all 97 variants) have been taxed each year since launch in 1996. In 2005, there were 120,461 Berlingos taxed in the UK. Just worth noting that the quarters are cumulative, so don't get confused by the high individual quarter figures.

This graph shows the number of each year of Berlingo that were taxed in 2010. For example, in 2010, 13,042 2008 reg Berlingos were taxed on UK roads. The 'most common' Berlingo is reg'd 2003, with 18,114 on the road in 2010.

If taxi drivers continue to buy Berlingos then the figures should go up even more.
