Berlingo engine cover fixing
#1
I have a 2004 Berlingo 2.0HDI multispace. The engine cover was loose. i bought a 4 point fixing kit which seems to need to screw onto the engine somewhere, problem is the corresponding points are just 4 bolt heads, does the cover just sit on them via rubber studs fixed through the cover or is something else missing.
Help gratefully received

You have something like this?

I thought they just attach onto the engine through the holes into the cover? With a push.

I've actually had one completely removed on mine just out of curiosity to see what we have, the lower portion screws into a location at 4 points around the engine and is a standard 6mm dia thread, the top has a grooved plastic protusion onto which the clips push on and rotate, 1/4 turn to remove.

Seem quite expensive to buy, check prices at both Pug and Cit dealers, I lost one of the clips and it was cheaper to buy from Pug dealer.

As mine gets older and once the Citroen Select warranty has expired I will be looking at ways of modifying this (IMHO) poor design, thinking of using resilient mounting bushes and washers as packing pieces with either nyloc or wing nuts to secure, but that's a job for the future.
