In the Haynes manual it quotes" On earlier models, the central locking system is controlled by an ecu, located in the will panel to the rear of the front drivers door. On later models controlled by BSI"
Don't know whether that help .

I have a '97 1.8D van with a replacement engine (SH) so due to differences in the loom, the immobiliser is no longer connected. The remote central locking worked fine (most of the time) but both my keys have now got buggered buttons. Can replacements be obtained for reasonable money (it's a seventeen year old van - so not worth a lot on paper) or am I reduced to key locking? Everything else works fine and the keypad still shows lights to deter thieves (though where I live, you can still leave doors unlocked when you're out - the neighbours will always spot visitors and tell me that someone came round).

I've found the replacement fob plastics on ebay to be absolutely useless, went through one a month before I gave up, the cases just won't stay closed and the plastic material seems to be resistant to most glues.
