[Engine] 2.0HDi Non starter
Hi All. Can anyone suggest anything on this history of Woe..

Only had the vehicle 5 weeks or so.

2002 Berlingo 2.0HDi M49 Siemens SID801 is going into limp home mode, limiting revs to ~3000rpm and not much power. This is intermittent though, I could start up and drive a few yards or a few miles. Key off leave it a minute or so and MIL goes off when started and you pull away.

I was getting a few air bubbles in the fuel lines so replaced fuel filter (which was black, no shiny fillings in filter housing though) After filter change no bubbles once system was bled through.

Chatted to the AA guy at the Local Halfords and he scanned for DTCs and found
P1113 P1114 P1164 P1198 most pointing to Fuel Pressure Sensor.

So replaced that with 2nd hand one from PCR in Worthing.
All was well for few miles then MIL popped up again....Doh.

Disconnected battery overnight to reset ECU...No scan tool to clear codes.

Reconnected battery this morning and now it won't start or even try to. Fuel is getting to the common rail as on cranking it squirts from the High Pressure (HP) lines if you crack them off slightly. Fuel cut-off switch is depressed as am I.

Any thoughts frrom anyone out there? Fuel tank is over half full.

Does anyone in the Brighton area have a Lexia diagnostic set by any chance.
I don't think you've reset the BSI unless you precisely followed this procedure:

The software that controls the operation of these systems can become corrupted if the battery has been
replaced and the “BSI” has not gone to sleep before disconnection of old battery or been woken up after
reconnection of new battery or sometimes for no good reason at all!

Think of it as running your laptop on the battery and then removing the battery without shutting it down, not a good idea.

The system can be rebooted if a problem has occured so all is not lost.

Follow this procedure for the reset (reboot).

Have the drivers window fully open.
Open the bonnet and make sure all equipment is switched off including interior light.
Close all doors and remove key from the ignition.
Wait 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery then wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the vehicle battery and wait a further 10 seconds.
Switch on the side lights through the driver’s window.
Switch on the ignition DO NOT start the engine at this point.
Hold the lock button on the key down for 10 seconds while key is still in the ignition.
Switch off ignition and remove key open & close door to test central locking system.
Start the engine.
This is how to reset the BS.I It is worth doing if you have problems with lights,wipers,radio,central locking,
starting etc as it only takes a few minutes

Merely disconnecting the battery doesn't do it. While your original fault may still be present, if you didn't
follow the correct 'shut down' method then I think you may have upset the immobiliser.

Thanks I have tried this today and will try again tomorrow, although the central locking has not been working for the last few weeks. New battery in the fob worked for a week or so then it stopped.
Am not getting immobiliser light on though so that implies key is communicating.

Well first thing I did today was get new battery for the key as it was flat after 3 weeks uses (lots of threads on that one elsewhere). Central locking worked fine open / close All OK.

Ran through the procedure again to the letter.
However after doing....
"Hold the lock button on the key down for 10 seconds while key is still in the ignition.
Switch off ignition and remove key open & close door to test central locking system."

The central locking has failed to work and car still doesn't start. I'll keep trying as some people have tried this 3-4 times.
Fuses all appear OK burnt bits!!

Any idea how to turn off /on the immobiliser, though thinking about it I don't get the immob. lamp come on so comms should be OK, I guess BSI is still inhibiting C/locking and startup.
