Engine fan woes...
#1
My original plan for today was to fit my new horn and a simple flush and refill of the radiator, It seems to be getting hot rather quickly so I thought I'd better...

The emptying/refilling of the cooling system was relatively uneventful The fun started when I was got the engine up to temp and I realised only one of my rad cooling fans was working, upon closer inspection I found that the reason the other one wasn't spinning is It had apparently been damaged in a collision before I came to own it... Great.

The fan was rubbing on the cowling and is snapped on the outer ring with some damage to the blades.

I've broken/bent away enough of the cowling for the fan to turn freely but it still doesn't run when up to temp... the fuse is ok, took off the relay cover and looked at them too, I pulled out the relay that runs it and one of the terminals snapped off... tried it with the other relay and still no joy.

Then the sun went down so theres not much else I can do today.

.....Never did fit my new horn Sad

I'm about to go out and disassemble everything again, does anyone know which terminals I have to short to check the functioning of the fan?

Heres a pic of the relays in question.

Oh dear... it looks like I have to take out the ac cooler as well as the radiator to remove the two front fans... surely thats not the case?
