[Engine] Cam Belt Change two questions
#1
I am the proud owner of a 1.9d 2004 Berlingo.

1.The manual states the cam belt should be changed after 75000 miles or 10 years. I'm on 50000 and 8 years. Is it worth getting it done or can I leave it for a couple of years?

2. How much will it cost?

Thanks in advance

Yes

I would never go to the recommended limits with a cam belt. If it broke the consequences are catastrophic. It probably means that the alternator belt has not been changed either and there are many instances of that belt breaking and wrapping round the crankshaft pulley causing the cambelt to jump or break, not a massive job nor too expensive for your peace of mind
