Squeeze in the fat coloured bands - there is one opposite side, underneath on each elbow.

There are "opposing" bands - you can't see the one on the underside. When they are squeezed together, sometime a slight initial push of the fittings towards each other is required to break the stick/grip of the O-rings inside the connector.
Reassembly with a smear of petroleum jelly on the barbed end, ensures a simple click fit.
