Try the one under the passenger side as well...

Suppose, connector in a steering wheel may cause a problem.

Mine is on quite often as my wife always moves the seat.
Just move the seat and then pop it back into position and make sure it's securely clicked into place. Then start the car. Repeat if needed and it should sense the seat is correctly locked into place.
Also try some wd40 on the wiring and runners under the seat. Tends to stop it happening quite so easily.

Is it on all the time or on then off?
Mine became intermittent at first, then became more frequent until it stayed on for ever.
On my van it was the ribbon cable in the COM 2000 unit that had broke where it plugs into the airbag plug.
Changed the COM unit for a new one and sorted. Cost 124 quid brand new Valeo part

From next year it is going to be an MOT fail if the air-bag light is on.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

I have had the same problem on and off over 2-3 years. It happens when my wife forgets and hides her handbag or notes under the seat if calling at a clients home. I used to be able to wiggle the wires as noted above but last time it didn't help. This time I did some more smoothing of the wires and disconnected and reconnected the little brown plug under the seats and it worked a treat. Nothing since and my wife is aware now not to stick things under the seat or at least be careful. I didn't know about the need to isolate the battery before unclipping the connector as mentioned above by Ian. I will follow that wise advice next time as it makes sense, but I clearly got away with it this time without the airbags blowing. I had assumed that the circuit is ignition key controlled.
