Good morning,
Just been out and checked the van after what seems the first decent rain since I have bought it.
Looking around the windscreen I could see that trim ( the top black rubber that covers around the glass around the screen to the struts roof and above the wipers had a few places that where no overlapping so a small gap could be seen. Particularly on the drivers strut. I have just carefully pushed it over so it appears covered.
Am I being paranoid but is this where water can get in then work it's way to the BSI?
I pulled off the fuse cover under the sterering column and had a look / slipped my hand back as far as I could to feel for water. Nothing found.
Am I looking in the right area?
I am thinking of later today putting some black mastic in places to create a better seal so my mind is at rest before the really bad weather kicks in.
What do you think is it worth doing this or am looking at the wrong area ? This van had its BSI replaced at some point surely they would have sealed the prior leak?
Is there somewhere else is should be checking is free of blockage or sealed?
Thanks a bunch any advice appreciated or photos where to look would be fantastic.
Cheers
Alex
