I'm not quite sure whether I put that all in the right order, but I became the proud owner of a lovely red Berlingo yesterday.
My only disappointment is that I thought I would get a blip key with it, something I was looking forward to as I walk dogs and it would have been so much easier than walking round the car with three straining dogs on leads to lock it.
Can anyone tell me whether this model does actually have this capability? I'd really appreciate any advice. I've found uncut blip keys on ebay, as well as separate blip devices, but I'm not totally sure whether they would work with my car.

You don't say what key you have but if the car has central locking locking the driver's door will lock up the whole thing.
If it doesn't have central locking (I'm pretty sure that it will!) then a 'blip' key won't help you anyway.
There is another thread here at the moment dealing with the best way to get a remote key and how to get it to work.
I believe all Desire models have remote locking.Did a key card come with it? It's credit card size.Try asking your local dealer.I agree about dogs & remote locking.:thumbsup:

Hi, welcome to the forum. I know what you mean about dogs and locking the car! AFAIK all multispace models come with a blip key and a non blip key.
FYI we have the citroen dog guard that fits above the rear seats, and a Barjo guard that stops them jumping out when the tailgate is lifted. I failed to shut the tailgate properly one day and it lifted as I pulled onto a roundabout! Luckily the mutts stayed put, but scared the hell out of me. Bought the Barjo guard after that.

Ol'Jeffers and Ron, I only got one key, it has a shaped top to it - no credit card sized thing. It is central locking so I guess that means I can find a blip key. I've located the forum thread referred to and will follow the advice there for trying to find somewhere that doesn't charge the earth.
Modmytop, I'm looking at dog guards, although I will have the back seats up, so must find something that will fit that. I have also looked at the tail gate guards, but they're a little beyond my means at the moment! That must have been pretty scary, the tailgate coming open, I shall make absolutely sure that I close it properly until I can find the means to get something suitable.

There are places on the internet that will supply a non-OEM plip key, with a cut blade (so it will work in the locks) for about £30. I'm sure some were linked to somewhere on the forum.
If you can get one of them, and get the 4-digit code from your dealer - take the Log Book to them as proof of ownership, some will give it you free if you ask nicely at the parts desk, some will charge you a tenner. Once you have this, you can get the key coded to the car. You will need access to a Lexia Citroen diagnostic machine and software to do this.
You have two choices. Get your wallet emptied by the dealer, or ask someone who has one nicely to do it for you. I'm up near Reading, if you can get up this way, I'll do it for you...

Most cars lock the drivers door with one turn then all the rest with a second turn. The key has a transponder so the ignition recognises it. That £2.90 key will not have anything inside it, just be to repair a broken key by replacing the innards from your working key. My niece had no plip key for her Pug and it cost £110 to get one cut and programmed. Here's one showing it is empty

You will be able to get a key with the innards for about £35 online. There's plenty of places that do them. I'm trying to find the link to the website that was on here. It needs matching to the car with a Lexia, there is no other way to do it on a MK2 I believe. So, it's dealer or Cit specialist, or hobbyist with a Lexia like me who'll do it for free...
