2 Factor Authentication

What is 2 Factor Authentication? Two factor Authentication adds an extra, much stronger, layer of protection to your Berlingo Forum account. Users that opt in for ‘2FA’ will be required to log in with their password as normal, but in addition, will be required input a live code from their mobile device/other device including desktop in order to log in to their account. This live code refreshes every ~30 secs and is unique to you. Why Opt In? 2 Factor Authentication strongly increases the security of your account. Even if your password is compromised in some way, access to your account will not be possible without the live code from your mobile device. How to enable 2FA Please follow the below instructions: 1) Enable MyBB 2FA from your User Control Panel (LINK TO USER CP HERE). You don’t need to do anything else (although you will see a QR code displayed). 2) Download ‘Authy’ for either your Apple, Android, Blackberry, or Desktop computer. Apple Store - LINK HERE Android Store - LINK HERE Install the application and follow the instructions to verify your device. 3) Staying in the Authy app, in order to add our ‘token’, you will need to scan our QR code from within the App. The QR code can be found in your User CP once you have activated 2FA link. 4) Once the token is added, you are all set! Each time you want to log in, once you have entered your password correctly, you will then be promted to add your Authy Token, which can be found by opening your Authy App and seeing what the token is at that current time.
