Oer! Heater Matrix replacement Mk2 m59
#1
Hi all..
So I gather it's a dash out job and tbh I'm dreading it. I don't really want to tackle it myself if I can avoid it. I've sourced one off eBay for £15.75 + £6 p+p. It's very cheap so I'm wondering what peoples opinions are on it
Thanks in advance... (on a side note, the thank you tab isn't showing! so can't thank you for any advice)

Edit.. Just asking if anyone of you is interested in carrying out this heater matrix exchange?
I'm willing to bring the van to your place and will assist you, as long as it's no more than an hour or 2 away, or can be done on my drive, Mablethorpe area, will pay of course, feel free to pm me if you're interested.. cheers

I don't know, I stripped mine off from the BMW and after examining it closely it looked like hell of a job if I had the carpets on, the dash, the wiring, then just when I was about to pull it out I noticed a red wire that ran across connecting my main dials and the heater in the middle of all. So I had to actually cut the cable off and join it without a heater now. Removing those pipes and heater matrix revealed old dirty radiator and lots of liquid.

Here is why I think if the one in my Berlingo goes wrong eventually, I won't be repairing it:
It's not instant hot, it takes ages to demist the glass, it smells occasionally, it's another thing to go wrong, there are nicer instant camping 12v electric heaters, or hell go wild and get a gas heater. In fact if you have the Desire model, the top heater for the passengers is indeed electric one that you simply turn on. I have a feeling this is not the answer you seek but I'm just throwing it out there for other people that might be interested
