Having bought a used Witter detatchable swan neck towbar from a nice gentleman who advertised it on this forum, I have now started looking for a vehicle specific towbar wiring so that I don't invalidate my warranty.
I've looked at 3rd party solutions from various companies, and prices range from about £130 for 7 pin to £200+ for 13 pin and are supply only, fitting is extra
I then looked at genuine Citroen wiring kits to compare
Citroen do three wiring kits for the Mk3 Berlingo
7 pin - part number 1606489280
7+7 pin - part number 1607814280
13 pin - part number 1607814080
I previously asked my local Citroen dealer for the price of the 13 pin kit and was pleasantly surprised that it was at least on par in cost with a 3rd party kit at £197.83 including VAT, so I'm assuming that the 7 pin kit will be cheaper still
When I'm next in my local dealer, I'll ask about the prices of the other two kits and update this thread
On further investigation on the Citroen UK website, I found that the 7+7 pin kit can be supplied and fitted for £323 including VAT
While doing random Google searches on the Citroen part numbers, I came across the genuine Citroen fitting instructions for these kit, so I thought I would share them in case anybody like me is looking for information about the genuine Citroen wiring kits
From the pdf's below, you will see that the kits come with all the necessary bits and bobs including nuts, screws, fuses, cable ties and the exact wiring to plug and play
7 pin
13 pin and 7+7 pin
The only thing that is left to do once fitted is to activate it all using a Lexia/Diagbox
I have looked at this and it is pretty straight forward as there is a simple 'Activate Towbar Wiring' section
When I next plug the Lexia in to my Berlingo, I will take some screenshots for everybody to see
Hope someone finds this information useful
UPDATE
After searching more on the Citroen wiring kits, the prices seem to be cheaper if you order them online from Europe
I have found a Citroen dealer in Agen in France that will supply the 13 pin kit for £123.42 and the 7 pin for £115.94, plus £12.76 postage
Also, according to the HM Revenues and Customs web site, there is no extra Customs Duty or Import VAT to pay from an EU state
Things are getting better and better, already a saving of about £60 - think I'll keep digging to see if I can find a better price

Quote:If you're ordering or sending purchased goods (other than alcohol and tobacco) to the UK from another EU country then it's just like shopping in the UK:
there is no Customs Duty payable
there is no import VAT payable
