Newbie advice -DAB Adapter and MPG?
#1
Hi all users, just got an 09 1.6 HDI, very low mileage and love the car.

Live in Sheffield and commute to work and various other places whilst working. The fitted radio is just the standard one that comes with the car (Radio/CD). I am desperate for a unit that is DAB compatible, I am aware there are loads of DAB adapters on the market, I have 'Googled' to try and find a DAB car radio to directly replace the existing unit but don't seem to be able to find one.

My questions on the above are:
1 Any owners purchased a DAB adapter and it very happy with it?
1 Any owners purchased a replacement DAB radio specifically for this model of Berlingo?

The other subject (not sure if I should do a separate post) is the digital MPG display, this fluctuates between 10 mpg and 150 mpg when driving. All i want to try and do is find my average MPG when using the vehicle, looked in the manual but can't find anything.

Last question is:

Is there a 're-set' button to stop the MPG digital display jumping around all over the place?

OK folks, advice most welcome Tongue

Hi Andy, cant answer your DAB question,i had an 08 1.6hdi and if memory server me right the stalk on the right of the steering wheel allows you to go through four different screen displays by pressing the button on the end of the stalk.every press will change the view and figures, one of them gives you average mpg from when it was last reset. To reset the average mpg first get the display that shows it then hold the button for a few seconds and it should zero itself. On my 08 whatever display i had on screen would stay there till you press it again.Hope that helps .Steve..

Its normal for the MPG readout to change all the time as it is giving you "real time" figures which obviously change constantly as you drive ! As Steve said, you can set it to average MPG if you like.

Ive seen the MPG problem where it fluctuates from 10mpg to 150mpg come up before. Has your trip computer distance traveled also stop progressing beyond 6213 miles ?? Try resetting the trip computer settings.

Hi,
I have a DAB head unit which I removed from my previous car. I would love to fit it in my Blingo (B9 1.6 eHDi XTR) but am concerned that I will lose the reverse sensors. I have "handlebar controls" interface that I took out of my old car, but have nothing for the reverse sensors (which work through the radio). How did  you solve this on yours ???
Many thanks, Richard

Hi Andy,
Yes I have the same problem with DAB although I have a new head unit and adapter, which I removed from my last car (Blingo Camper !). However my problem is if I fit this I will lose the FF reverse sensors which work through the radio.
You can of course use a "add on" unit such as the "Pure highway" range from Halfords etc, but the problem is where to put it. It needs to be
get-at-able, but at the same time out of the way, tidy and not encouraging theft. These units are simply DAB tuners which work from a stick on aerial and then re-broadcast on the FM band, and work surprisingly well.
As for the MPG display. The top tab gives you instant MPG ie the weight of your right foot. The lower tabs are recollective. I use the bottom one between fill ups, and the one above for journeys. You skip between the tabs by short press on the stalk button, and reset it with a long press.
Hope this is some help to you.

Hi Rick - and Bev!
Although my reversing sensors were fitted by Citroen, they were not factory fitted so do not work with the car speakers. Therefore I didnt need to reversing sensors adaptor for the aftermarket stereo. However I seem to remember information relating to this in a thread a few months back. Perhaps have a look through this one http://www.berlingoforum.co.uk/thread-13310.html - hope that is helpful - if not I'm sure someone will try to assist
