Beeping with no error lights!!!
#1
I have this issue  - same as the chap in the youtube clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by7YJfoyZ9E

In a nutshell - I get the beeping with no warning lights to tell me what the issue is. it only happens on start up (all doors closed, all seat belts attached etc) and will not go away regardless of length of journey.. just beep....beep...beep...

I can sometimes get it to go away by turning it off and waiting for around 15 minutes and the beeping goes ... nothing has changed, no doors opened or seat belts opened closed...

It only happens say one a week, so not all the time.

does anyone else have this fault? And does anyone have a solution!!!!!

Thanks

Looking at the video his service spanner is showing. Is yours. it could be a service due warning sound.

Nope, its not the service indicator spanner, that's the "distance to" the next service or more accurately how many miles/km it is until you need a service.

Certainly not due a service any time soon as i have only covered  2500 miles and if it did require a service, the spanner would stay illuminated and not go away on start up.

I have no warning lights, no messaged in the diagnostics of "fault report" page on the touch screen, just the infernal beeping.

As with all things its better to ask a question and see if this is a common problem or not. Asking on here is often better than booking it back in, wate 5 days or so for an appointment, drive over and wait all day for them to say its not an issue.... drive home, week later, repeat the process again, they still wont find a fault and repeat all over again...and again...and again.

I know from experience this is how it works with Peugeot/Citroen as I was one of the first in the UK with the 7" touch screen, that kept randomly rebooting. In 3 times to the garage, as it wouldn't do it in the 15 minutes they take to diagnose these things I was just sent away (as were the majority of other Citron/Peugeot owners at the time). As we all know now, it was a software fault (not seen by any of their computer diagnostics) and there was a recall in Feb 16 after I had mine fixed with the software update, just before Christmas.

As I said, just wondering if anyone else with the 7" touchscreen version manufactures since October 15 is having this beeping issue? I have it, someone else on the internet has it, is this yet another "issue" with the new version and its new software driven ECU.

Berlingo xtr100 , November 15 registered , 5000 miles on clock,  same weird fault and  typical response from Citroen dealer .

I am fully aware that as it is an intermittent fault it can be difficult to diagnose .The computer orientated service technicians  at main dealers have the annoying comment of "no fault found " when they undertake their "diagnostic investigations" on this and other faults on my car .

The first time this happened the car had just 500 miles on the clock and my insistence to talk with a service technician was denied but was informed that it may require a software update for the radio .The car had a pre-delivery software update when I went to pick it up and was assured that it was fully up to date and all issues addressed .

As we were going on holiday I could not wait for a week to get it seen by the dealer .Reading various comments on here it is concerning that the complicated touch screen system does cause problems and  it is not an isolated issue. After a bit of deliberation , I opted to "reboot " the system by removing the positive connection on the battery , not the solution but it worked .

When it happened again recently I tried to find out the reason for this happening and went through a common sense approach to try and what was happening . As I had just cleaned the car and polished it I even thought it could have been either polish or silicon bumper cleaner on the reversing sensors, I cleaned them but it was still beeping away , might have been just coincidence I suppose .

I had to resort to removing the battery terminal again and it is working fine again , next time I will video it for evidence to show to the dealer to see their response !

I  now regret updating to the new XTR100 from my 2009 VTR 75 , too many electrical complications  and other  expensive annoying issues like tyre wear that I do not think the dealer is prepared to  address to my satisfaction.

Sincerely hope that if it happens again my dealer will address the issue but sadly I have doubts !!
