Hi All, MOT failure, play in nearside track rod end. Simples says I. got the ball joint separated no prob. but can I unscrew the ball joint from the steering rack arm, can I heck as like. I've been at it for a whole day, used penetrating fluid, heat, freeze out, and it still wont budge .Any advice much appreciated.

You could remove the inner tie rod and seperate on the bench or replace the inner tie rod also.

Undo the nut on the tie rod and spray Wd40 on the thread once an hour for several hours and leave overnight, patience this way usually has its rewards.

I can't speak for the Berlingo but you do occasionally come across lefthand threaded components on steering.  I struggled for a while with just such a problem on (I think) our old SIII Land Rover.

Hello All, got there in the end. It needed "Stevie" force to undo it. Stevie is 6' 4" built like the perverbiable brick out house. It needed all his strength and two Stillson wrenches before it gave.
Thank goodness for big strong mates.
