Fuel filter location DV6 D? - jamesg - 14-03-2015

Could some please let me know where the fuel filter is located on a mk3 with the DV-6D engine? It's doesn't look like it's below the air intake as in the manual. It looks like it might have been relocated to the other side near the bulk head, right behind the oil cap?

maybe citroen thought it was to easy to get to at the front and moved it where there is less space, the air filter back there is a right pain

The reason I ask is its just had a service at an independent and they are meant to have changed the fuel filter. I marked what I think was the fuel filter beforehand, and it's still there...

your engine bay does look dif to mine but my filter is under the two round plastic pipes next to the battery, mine is a 2009 1.6 hdi

2011 the engine was revised to 8v SOHC (DV-6D), I'm pretty sure the fuel filter moved too, I've looked under the air intake hoses already as that's what the manual I have says.

Image from a slightly different application (PEUGEOT 207 308 508 3008 5008 PARTNER 1.6HDI 10 > ONWARDS), but looks like it's a replaceable filter cartridge and the top part is re-used.

it is that bit at the back left of the Bay, it's a pig, our garage loves it when it's service time on my van, haha

You just need to replace the filter number 6 in the image 2 posts above.
I replaced my fuel filter on my 1.6HDi 75HP 2013 a few weeks ago with this one PURFLUX CS762 http://www.mister-auto.be/fl/brandstoffilter/citroen-berlingo-1-6-hdi-110-112pk_v33780_g9.html

In these newer 8V motors, (DV6C, D, etc) , changing air and fuel filter is a bit simpler and made easy. Air filter is just 3 torx screws, one clamp and it is out...the diesel filter is also easy, it comes out by removing the 3 fuel pipes, one electric plug and 2x8mm screws. The filter itself is the metal part under the plastic lid you see on the image behind the oil filler cap. When it is changed, the metal part will look clear and new, not oxidised.

Changing that fuel filter is so easy compared to the older one. So much access and very quick.

Here's a nice youtube video as well.
