eurovox 3385 radio NO FM signal, AM great, FM fuzz - filobiz - 19-08-2011

right so next on the list is:

fix the radio! only have AM at the moment (which isn't a bad thing) but would like to have it working properly. any ideas as to why the FM is just fuzz ?

i've pulled it out and everything seems to be in place. why would the AM work and not the FM?

thanks

I'd check the continuity to the FM antenna first. If I unscrew my root antenna I can get AM but FM is just a hiss.

First I would try another antenna. It's the easiest option and the most straightforward. If the FM still doesn't work then the problem will be a fault within the radio.
I find the radio on my '06 Mk.2 to be less than satisfactory with signals dropping out on FM for no real reason but the CD player is fine! Big Grin

My Berlingo has been fitted with a Sony Radio/CD. The FM reception is pretty poor, weak signal and hence noise/interference. I did wonder if there was an amplifier in the Citroen aerial wiring which was now not powered due to the change of head unit.

The one advantage I've found is that outside signals are not strong enough to interfere with the ipod FM transmitter! I can go most places without having to periodically retune as I have to in other vehicles.
