Who's got the most powerful van? - pro_steve - 10-08-2015

So today I finally finished my project on my Berlingo 2.0 HDI 90 fitted with the Siemens SID801A ECU system. This ECU is a bit of a pain to tune because it uses very odd factors, but I eventually got a nice stage 2 setup on it.

Mods include a very large front mount intercooler that I had laying around from my last car, massive bumper space on this so you really can go big. Doesn't seem to create any more lag at all. The ehxuast is a complete straight through 2.5" system which I made myself, I even made up a flang for the turbo outlet so that I could make a 2.5" down pipe as the stock one is quite restrictive.

Results came out at 156 BHP and 237Nm torque. I kept the torque low because I didn't want to change the clutch again as it already has a new standard clutch.

Here's a video of it on the dyno, I'll try and get some pictures of my build if anyone is interested?

Who else has gone stage 2?

Is it still street-legal regards noise and exhaust?

And what kind of lap time do you expect around Nurburgring?
One Norwegian did 10:10 with his 1.6HDi

Yes all street legal, there is a straight through silencer on there so its not overly loud.

As to the nurburgring, I think I'll pass on that in the van. I'd have to spend a lot to give it car style handling!

Im new here, i joined today. **i dont even kno if anyones still out ther from this thread?*
Iv had 9 berlingo's/partners over th past 15 years(started on 1.8&1.9d then found out about th 2.0hdi :-) I used to buy them run them into th ground and scrap them.
My 8th had a stage 1, it was nice & had a fair bit of power (123bhp) but still seemed like th massive 2.0l lump cud do more so now . . . . . . . . . im on my 9th and im goin all out!
Iv also got a siemens sid801 ecu & like u hav had loads of trouble, had to do a tri-core job as an obd wudnt wrk, Iv also fitted a front mount ic (700x180) im waiting for a bigger turbo now, iv also gone with straight through, no muffler yet but getting 1 fitted , iv done th clutch(S2), lowered it with new dampers & springs on front & with whole new torsion bar back axle on th rear with lowered stiffer dampers. Down by 50mm f&r on 17s steelies with 10mm spacers, new brakes f&r (calipers, pads/shoes drums, discs pads & cylinders master and rears) new injectors (i was told only 1 type fitted these engines (8v head) oem! **However iv been told a specialist co. can put high flow rate nozzles on th injectors to aid more fuel wen required**
(im seeing ++BHP :-) Im hoping for around 170-200++Bhp

also had various sensors, all belts, pulleys water pump, gaskets seals all sorts. *not quite rebuilt engine, had a fuel carbon clean and inlet/exhaust carbon clean tho.*

**i didnt kno about th base of th exhaust being reduced and restrictive, 1 evening this week ill b under her for a good look. Thanks**

If i get what i want bhp wise ill happily take it to Nürburgring, all f shits & giggles! :-0 :-)

P.S how do i add photos if i dont have/never used imgur/photobucket etc etc?

I saw the title to this topic and it brought to mind this ....

" System of a Down – Cigaro "

or for those who are not up on such things ...... ( turn the volume up ) ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDdZlSsxbOQ

.. ok I'll get my coat and go back to the wilderness . .LOL !!

I technically cheated and ripped out the standard lump and dropped in a 3.0 v6 petrol... it handled well too! 210bhp plus a bit for decats and stainless, but not much, so standard power figure it is... would do 30-140 in fifth with good strong pull from idle to the redline

Hi, I'm a Peugeot partner M59 1.9d owner and hoping to do a hdi conversion before end of August, conversion kit due to arrive in the next two weeks or so. Hoping also to do stage 1 or 2 remap. Engine was sourced from a berlingo and loads of other components from a partner as well. I do long distances and needed a bit more power. Just saw your video and was impressed. I also saw that u indicated that your van now has 340Nm torque. How does your gearbox cope with that massive twist considering standard box only got capacity of 250Nm? Also is there a possibility of swapping with a 6speed box? I believe the Citroen side of PSA has more options for 6speed boxes than Peugeot like in the C4's hoping that it would best maximise the torque characterisitics of a remapped hdi engine.

I don't know if they offered any other engines in Australia, or if people just bought a bigger vehicle like a Hilux if they wanted more power. I've never seen an M49/M59 Berlingo for sale with anything else. I've had a look at other engines to swap in. The donor cars I can find for under $2,000 AUD is:

That 1.4i is pretty much the same as the 90bhp 1.4i that was in the Citroën AX GTi...
I'm just not certain which parts needs to be upgraded for magic to happen.
I imagine that swapping in a 'race' cam would be a good first step, though.
(I've seen them for sale)

Hello
I bought a Peugeot Partner 2.0hdi and unfortunately for my goals this one
has a Siemens Ecu.
My goal is to reach 200-250hp with fully upgraded Dw10Ated and w2a
intercooler and VNT based compound turbo kit. Vnt standalone controller is
already solved. Now to my problems
Otherwise this Siemens ecu is maybe more advanced and precise but for my
powergoals it makes things more problematic.
Its quite difficult to find a HPFP upgrade that works with both
flowregulator and Highpressure regulator like Siemens Pump and the other
problems is The piezo injectors that i cant find upgrades with the right
nozzle angles.
I have a Dw10Ated engine with EDC15c2 Ecu and harness and for that
management there are maps available up to 180hp if you change railpressure
sensor and upgrade to Bosch Cp1 R70 fuelpump and big intercooler. What it
looks like i have two options. One is to find hardware upgrades compatible
for Sid801 and find someone that can help me het a custom map. Or i need to
swap to The EDC15c2 to my Siemens based Peugeot. What i have read is that
no one has been able make the Siemens based BSI to talk with the Bosch
based Ecu. What i mean is to get the right signals to the dash and gauges.
I read about one goy who got the engine started without problem. But the
Bosch unit did not send the right signals needed for the siemens BSi.
So if anyone have any experience or ideas please let me know.
Regards Jonas
