Driveshaft noise - Ewanm77 - 12-07-2016 The cars started making a clicking clunky noise when I pull away and brake at low speed. It sounds like a dodgy bearing. Has anyone any ideas what it could be? RE: Driveshaft noise - Col - 12-07-2016 Sounds like a CV joint. Is it worse when cornering? RE: Driveshaft noise - brodfather11 - 13-07-2016 Loose wheel nuts? RE: Driveshaft noise - Ewanm77 - 13-07-2016 nuts are tight and it seems ok when cornering its just when you pull away and stop RE: Driveshaft noise - brodfather11 - 13-07-2016 As Col said it could be the c.v. joint but check the cheaper alternatives first . Brake pads loose in the calliper can give a clicking noise as they move about the calliper carrier when braking. Suspension bushes worn can click/rattle when taking the strain of accelerating and braking. RE: Driveshaft noise - Ewanm77 - 13-07-2016 Thanks I'll strip it down today and check everything RE: Driveshaft noise - brodfather11 - 14-07-2016 Loose subframe bolts can also cause clicking , I think there's a post about it somewhere. Also engine mountings RE: Driveshaft noise - Ewanm77 - 16-07-2016 put new disks and pads on today and the noise has stopped |
