1.6 HDI Total 9000 or Total 7000 - jimbo - 16-01-2011

Hi I hope this is not a stupid question but what do others use ? A google search seems to point to Total 7000, I live in the UK and the Berlingo is a 2007 90 HP model I am not sure if it has a particle filter any advice would be much appreciated .regards Jamie

Although I haven't changed my oil yet, it is coming due. I bought a 5l container of TOTAL Quartz Ineo ECS 5W-30 after getting a consensus of opinion over on the German language forum. It is supposed to be specifically designed for HDi motors with particle filters from Cit/pug. I've got a 2010 Berli with an HDi 110 with particle filter.

P.S. As far as I'm concerned there are no stupid questions. I'm never afraid to ask about something when I don't know the answer. That's how I found out about the oil I'm going to use. Big GrinBig Grin

If you check out PK's thread here, it should give you your answer if you are able to identify your van.

Thanks for the advice I did look at that document but was still unsure I think Total 7000 should be OK just out of interest do you order your oil online or source locally? thanks Jamie

I order mine online and have it delivered to Germany. Prices are ridiculous here in Switzerland.

Still undecided I am now leaning towards Total 9000 as we often only do short journeys 1-2 miles I am thinking that Total quarts 9000 5w40 would be better, am I right in thinking that the first number means that it is thinner when cold ?
