Interesting stuff.... Thats a really unfriendly thing to do! To post a link that has any mention of :censored: Chris Hollins should carry a Warning!! Good grief he makes me cringe. RE: DPF regeneration - corkgsxr - 24-03-2012 I'm gonna have a go at cleaning mine, I don't get to above 50 mph for over 20 mins very often, longest normal is 10 min blast down the dual carriageway. Though most is city/urban driving So in my search for high mpg ill have a go, I don't have the money for a dpf removal/ software remap so I'll have a go at cleaning (24-03-2012, 10:52 PM)Trevor Wrote:(24-03-2012, 10:41 PM)j90xxx Wrote: Will let this link do the talking. Though most is city/urban driving also maybe the fact that I add a tiny bit of 2 stroke to the tank of diesel to aid the dodge fuel pump. I'd imagine 2 stroke oil (a high quality fully synthetic one) does contain a tad bit of ash and sulfur. Might not matter what oil I use. Dpf is def getting a clean RE: DPF regeneration - Trevor - 25-03-2012 (24-03-2012, 10:59 PM)corkgsxr Wrote: I'm gonna have a go at cleaning mine, I don't get to above 50 mph for over 20 mins very often, longest normal is 10 min blast down the dual carriageway. The handbook says you should drive at a speed higher than 40mph for a least 5 minutes to regenerate. Mind you it then says if the warning light remains on consult your Citroen dealer! RE: DPF regeneration - paulusat800 - 03-06-2012 Contacted dealer where I bought my car 1.6HDi and they suggested high revs @ 40 mph for about 10 mins. RE: DPF regeneration - Opensauce - 03-06-2012 Has anybody actually had the dpf light come on? Mine never has & my driving is mainly town & local rural rarely above 50mph for more than a few miles with a long motorway run every month or more. The problems seems to affect certain makes, never heard of it with Citroen. Technology does not stand still & presumably this problem will be resolved sooner or later. |
