van door lock replacement - BigDunkyWunky - 30-07-2013 Annnnd I'm back. Keys started spinning in the door locks so I checked out my new Haynes manual for instructions on how to replace them. All seems easy enough. Bought a new set of 3 locks from Neat Car Parts in Birmingham and am about to set about fitting them. Apparently I need a "threaded removal tool" to extract the retainer from the front doors. What thread is it please? And I'll make one up or get a long screw to do the job. Anything else I need to watch out for? As always, thanks in advance. Cheers, D. RE: van door locl replacement - addo - 30-07-2013 It always used to be that you used a long self-tapper. If you prise out the oblong covers on the door shell edge, you can eyeball the holes. RE: van door lock replacement - BigDunkyWunky - 30-07-2013 Cheers addo I'll give that a bash RE: van door lock replacement - BigDunkyWunky - 03-08-2013 Done. A length of screwed rod from work did the trick and they were all replaced in under half an hour. Now I think I'll fit a radio :-) Thanks for your help Cheers D |
