ETG ? - taxi - 25-10-2013 I understand the new version of Multispace Airdream will have a different auto gearbox, does anyone have any knowledge or opinions on ETG gearbox, and will it be an improvement on the,EGS box ? RE: ETG ? - tc_1 - 26-10-2013 This is from a review of the new Picasso which will be very similar, from What Car. "Citroen expects most buyers to opt for the 113bhp e-HDi diesel engine, and it’s easy to see why, because it’s economical, refined and delivers good performance from almost any revs. Those who want a stronger diesel can go for the 148bhp Blue HDi unit, but it’s an expensive option. It’s a pretty noisy engine, too. We’d stick with the manual gearbox, even though it hasn’t got a very nice gearshift. The ETG6 semi-automatic ’box is more efficient in terms of emissions and economy, but it’s slow and jerky, so best avoided unless you must have a two-pedal car. The C4 Picasso is available in four trims, and you have to opt for one of the more expensive ones to get the fancy instruments shown in our pictures. However, even entry-level cars come with alloy wheels, Bluetooth and a six-speaker stereo with a USB socket." Tony RE: ETG ? - taxi - 26-10-2013 Thanks for that. So, it looks like a backward step for Berlingo Airdream. It appears that the ETG box has been tweaked for smoother and more efficient shifts than the previous version of the same box, which was rather jerky and abrupt. There is also a fully automatic box for,Picasso being available in 2014.( info from Parkers website about Picasso) http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/citroen/c4-picasso/estate-2013/driving-performance/ |
