There is a mk 2 manual scanned on here somewhere which should tell you for sure, but it looks like the oil level

RE: dashboard warning light - 3rensho - 23-06-2011

Had a gander at my Mk 3 manual but alas nothing similar

RE: dashboard warning light - Coco - 23-06-2011

This is alongside a series of either small dashes -------- or blocks of similar size at the base of the speedo.
It does indeed indicate the engine oil level.

If it's all dashes - as above - you need more oil !! If it's all blocks you have full oil level

RE: dashboard warning light - Mike - 23-06-2011

Or you could have an oil indicator that varies so wildly it isn't worth taking any notice of.

Thank you !!!!

I have already got one on mine....

mentioned in previous topics, if I park on a slope or with one side higher than t'other I get the flat dashes showing on the display so must be ridiculously sensitive but not accurate or just plain ridiculous.

As time passes and the joy of ownership gets longer, I tend to take less and less notice of the confounded thing...
