Get used to bits falling off it (no offence). The only good thing about mine is the 1.6hdi engine, and that's probably because Ford had an influence.

I let mine drain overnight from a warm engine. I always wonder if there's a puddle left in the sump though. The cheap oil is a good idea, or are we being a bit fanatical lol

The sensor is in the door mirror. Move it to somewhere inside the car so you still see the correct temperature when you start off but it'll warm up with the interior of the car.

My mini cooper d has done 94k miles and runs like new, there are differences in the engines though. The mini version has a cam chain rather than belt. It sounds different too
