Interior bulbs

Im wanting brighter interior lights for my M59 In the past in other cars ive used led/smd/cree type bulbs has anyone else done this ?
What type of bulbs do the interior lights take ? Had a look on ebay but not sure which ones i need ? Also how do the interior lights come out ? Ive had a search before asking but couldnt find anything about interior lights on a M59

Been using LED strips and blocks for quite some time now. Just have to connect the right way round or they fry !!!
Held in place using glue gun.

Hiya.. I have tried LED bulbs in the centre bit behind the heater and the display on the top and have found them to be far too dim to be any use.
Are you talking about the lamps behind the clocks or behind the heater ?

The bulbs behind the heater are the same as the ones in the top display, I can't remember what they are called but they are pretty small.
