Single berth camper
#1
I'm mulling over the idea of a single berth camper, and figure someone will have already done a similar conversion.

My plan.
Remove rear seats, single bunk behind drivers seat (I'm well under six foot tall) with storage underneath, maybe a boxed in porta potty at the tailgate end, I've considered a swivle passenger seat as I would use this as my main seating in camp but don't think there is room for the seat to turn, even with the door open, so I'm going to have a system for unbolting the seat to turn it around and temporarily remount the other way on custom brackets.

Window blinds/curtains or blackouts?

Your thoughts welcom

Just make sure you leave enough room for the midwife.

Either that or if the passenger seat folds forward like mine does, just sit on the back of it with a cushion...

Unfortunately the seat just folds about half way.

Ah right - in which case something similar to the Amdro set up should work. That needs the front seats slid and angled forward, but not folded right up. I'm only 5'9" but I don't think I'd fit without doing that...

Other setups I've seen for one person where you don't mind losing the back seats involve a sideways bench that folds down. Have a look at this for inspiration - it's a Fiat Doblo, but they're fundamentally the same size.

Me, I'd do something along the Amdro lines as you don't have to lose the seats, and it's lift in, lift out...
