Help!
Over the last couple of days I have developed a screeching when the clutch is in. I figured it was thr thrust bearing and a new clutch would be on the cards. Local mech quotes £380 then goes on to say that if it's a diesel then it will need a new flywheel too. I assume dual mass flywheel? Anyhow, now looking at £800
Can anyone confirm this to be true? It's just that I didn't think it had a dual mass flywheel but Google ain't helping.

Hiya, I have a 1.9D too and I am on the understanding that a clutch should last 100k miles..
I bought my van with 82k on the clock and it now has 148k and all seems good. I had to replace the clutch arm because the pivot bush is nylon and had worn through unfortunately breaking the thrust bearing too.. While I was there I took a quick look at the clutch plate, without removing the clutch, and it looked worn but still plenty of meat on it.. True enough the clutch might have been replaced before I got it.
