dpf cleaning
#1
Seen a few things about cleaning out the particle filter when or to prevent it from blocking.

Anyone done it? Worth trying.

Would a slowing of revs past 3/3.5k be a indication of a partially blocked filter or just as a result of the turbo being basically low pressure as standard

( yes I'm not talking about the new twin scroll boyos )

I was under the impression that dpf's are self cleaning. Just drive a stretch at speed to get the exhaust hot enough to burn it out.

I've seen a few articles about it and they all seem to give good results.

They do to a extent but they also slowly block up

right i have mine off at the mo.

for reference its a 07 1.6 hdi (prob lowest power one)

its non splitting

and no wires or pipes into it.

i put a 3/8th airline on the exhaust side and black powder billowed out. so much i had to run outside

i ran a line outside and abit came more came out.

i then ran petrol through, it came out abit black.

now im leaving the petrol residue soak while i have tea.

next water, then prob a heat gun to dry it all out
