my fixes
#1
while under the bonnet i noticed the hex bolt (circled and labeled A) was loose

figured i must be losing boost pressure so tryed to tighten it but no joy

popped off the other bolt and pulled it all apart and discovered the green o ring was missing a section (labeled b) and that seals part C

so i resealed it all with locktight seal

and put a screw in the air duct to the air filter to stop it coming apart

hopefully it help proformance and mpg abit hard to tell on a short trip with a cold engine but there has to be a disadvantage to a leaking turbo

as we say here that looks a "proper job" could you hear the turbo leaking before? probably not with all the sound proofing under the bonnet it should be better now you have sealed it .I was considering fitting a boost gauge to mine I guess that would show any problems as they develop .I must admit my air filter / pipes are rattling around on top of the engine there seem to be some rubber bits that attach it to the top of the engine missing all seems a bit plastic and flimsy.

ta everything seems held with rubber bushes.

well you could see the oil on the engine so it must have been blowing, presume the oil is from the egr valve,
