Belingo 1.4 limp mode and eml
#1
Got in the car this morning, it started but ran a bit lumpy like it was cold. Drove about half a mile when I heard a beep and the eml came on. Normally I would have stopped but I had a hospital appointment that I couldn't miss.
For the next 10 miles or so the car just ran in limp mode, ok on the flat but a mare on the hills. I stopped at some traffic lights when the temp seemed to start rising, as I set of the emg went out and the engine operated as normal. Drove the car home no problems either.
I have had a quick look through this forum but can't find anything.

I have had a similar problem before with a diesel, that turned out to be the maf sensor.

Do petrol cars have maf sensors?

Any other ideas?

Cheers

I'd have the cat looked at; this might be a blocked converter.

The EML coming on will have triggered a code. You will need to read it if you want a good idea without ending up with a very long list of things to check / replace.

When you say have a look at the cat do you mean take it apart?
