Hello all.
Im new here and new to Europe. I just moved to Germany a month ago from New Zealand to do a bit of overseas experience working stuff.
Seen as though i want to go do a bunch of things i though what better way to do it than in a camper! I love the freedom of being able to park up anywhere and make camp. I did this for 3 months on a 100cc motorbike and with a tent in Vietnam end of last year.
Now i am on a super tight budget as i have only just started working after 1.5 years of travelling. The only thing going for me at the moment is that im a mechanic by trade, so will be doing *trying to* everything myself.
Plan is for a simple fold out bed and possibly a table and seat set up. I think i will retain the seats so hopefully i can help out some hitchhikers or get some fuel money from bla bla car.
So after much searching I finally settled on a Belringo (this one being the 1.6 petrol) as it ticked all the boxes, cheap, TUV (MOT), Green emissions sticker and hopefully enough space to build a bed! And also helped that i have experience with the engine and gearbox as i own a 205 GTI at home and have had a few Frenchies in my time.
got it for 600 euros and of course some things need fixing,
-Roof doesn't work which seems to be a mega common problem but i see no one has really tackled the problem on any threads i could --- find so im going to give it a good go! (what normally goes wrong with them? mines trying to open on one side only)
-cambelt needs doing
-exhaust manifold cracked
plus its totally filthy so i started with a big clean which included stripping the entire interior including carpets...... i go a little overboard sometimes

even got some free CD's

is this standard or some added thing? Cause i love it!

then after checking the plugs and cleaning the air filter the pressure sensor blew off the power steering hose for no reason what so ever. Luckily im used to owning french cars and was not surprised..... Ironically the problem was fixed with a spark plug and it will stay that way
