1.6hdi Front Heat Shield

Hey guys, attempted to remove the filter mesh (Bango Bolt)in the oil return pipe going to the turbo today. But couldn't remove the heat shield loosened all the bolts but there's just not enough room to take it out without removing the radiator so ive left it for another day. Anyone else removed all the heat shield without removing the rad?
