Oh.Wow.I didnt expect that.Its only been the last 5 years or so that its been about but what you say makes sense.Silly question but you dont know the name of the algae by any chance so i can Google it ! Idea Thank you anyway for throwing light on something which has had me puzzled for a number years.

I think it's called Rhodophyta ?

Thanks Jed.Ive Googled Rhodophyta and it appears its a tropical sea weed,now, i know its gets warm and wet down here in Devon but not quite tropical "yet"anyway.It made interesting reading though.It must be called something else ! Best regards.
