Hi all,
I encounter a fault in my radio, volume always goes up even with auto volume off mode.
Tried to clean out the contacts, did not help at all.
I bought a second hand radio but it is obviously coded to that VIN number and not mine.
What can I do?
I do not have any diagnostic tool, but I could take to a dealer.
TIA

Just an update: i bought a radio programmed in to my vin. Still does the same, volume goes up almost instantly I turn on the radio. I suspect electrical problem, I reckon earth fault.
Also my windscreen wipers start sometimes without touching the lever.
Where can I find the earth points?

Just a thought take the cowl off the steering column and then disconnect the remote controls for the radio to see if the radio then behaves itself. Its a plug in stalk easy to remove and replace. There are various diagrams on the forum showing earth points, There is one below the aerial mount and quite a few behind the nearside headlight from memory.
Are we there yet?????

Update: i have done what you suggested and i use the radio daily for 3weeks now and looks like it solved the problem.
No more volume up thing.
I have never thought about the remote controls because it hasnt got the volume buttons.
Thank you again for this really useful comment!
