Many apologies - Just had a look at mine and guess what, yep these are offset pin types. This is the first time I have seen ones like these.

Have amended previous post.
What you need now is a multimeter of some type to see if you have 12v at the headlamp connection.
This is pin 6 which is a pink wire with No.288 marked on it.
Measure this to earth with the indicator on.
Let us know what you get.
