Camping in a Berlingo? Check this out.
#1
Thought I'd share this as I thought it was a bargain. We were looking for an awning to go over the tailgate and expand the space when sleeping n the car. But then I found this. It's actually a tent extension but fits pretty snugly and I got one new for £50. I suspect other similar products would fit but this is near spot on with little gap round the edges and you can fully open and close the tailgate. Google Gelert Evora Porch... Haha. I think you and I are at opposite ends of the Berlingo spectrum. Certainly wouldn't want to camp in yours and ruin all that lovely cream leather.

Me - if I could fit a hose-down interior I would. Lovely to have a car I don't have to worry about the kids ruining.

My alloys aren't as good as yours either. Only ended up with sixteen inches in the end...

it was just my opinion, no offence meant.

Which type of wheel have you gone for?

And none taken :-)

C4 Picasso alloys, as they came with the correct michelins on them. There's a thread somewhere but they're not on the car yet as it keeps threatening to snow again.

Out of interest, what would you favour as a camping solution, or would you just sensibly get a hotel room? This set up wins no prizes for looks, but is pretty practical and packs down very small. Who knows, maybe the World War 2 Nissen hut look will catch on...

It sounds a bit too uncomfortable for me, camping out. I would imagine if I hadn't got a bad back before the experience I certainly would have after a night in the Berlingo. It appears people do tho but not for me. And Yes, a proper bed for me.

That looks like a pretty good option to me, and I take it if you want to go off in the Berlingo you can just close up the awning easily?

I reckon it looks grouse; lightweight, compact and effective. Have slept on an unadorned Berlingo floor and they could do with some improving/creature comforts.

Well it doesn't close up as such but doesn't need to come down, and there are are couple of other pop up tents as well to keep stuff in which fit to the side door. Whole thing looks like a refugee camp by the time I'm finished.

As for sleeping, the whole point of this was to have a proper sleeping platform with mattress. Love camping, hate camping beds.

Of course all this is very well, but when will I get some decent weather? Need spring to happen so I can try it out.
