Id say go with either AA RAC or Green Flag. They will quote you the most expensive cover when you phone for a quote, don't get cover your not likely to use. Or try your insurance company my sister pays an extra £35 per year for green flag on her premium.

I have breakdown cover as part of my insurance policy , was cheaper with that included from a broker , than it was to get insurance from one of the big companies .

If you have breakdown cover as part of your insurance then check what the level of cover. I'm an AA member and have recovery & relay cover but my insurer also gave me free breakdown cover (also with AA). However it only covers me for recovery to nearest approved repairer, which isn't a great deal of good to me if I break down 150 miles away from home.
When renewal time comes around I never accept the renwal price quoted by AA and have always managed to get a better deal.
