[Tires & Wheels] tyre size help. thanks
Tyre size???????????
Please can anyone tell me the correct size for my motor. its a 2004 hdi multispace.currently running on 185/65 R15 88T.
all the sites say it should be 165/65 R15 H ??

Even citroen couldnt tell me. i dont know the pro's and con's of the different sizes. Also what can people recommend for road holding and noise?

Cheers Chris.
This will explain the markings on your tyres:-

Generally speaking, a wider tyre will have more rubber in contact with the road and will handle better - there are exceptions to this. Road noise is more influenced by the make/model of tyre than it's size. I believe that manufacturers now have to include a noise rating on new tyres. 185's or 165's will be fine.
Ours is a 2003 hdi and it is on 185/65 15 and it is the size listed for it at the tyre fitters and in the handbook.
So where does this bit go then ?
ive a 2004 hdi and mines fitted with 185/65 R15
thank you guys . love u all to bits. proper gents. especially coco who answered a different question a couple of years ago. Again this is a fab forum.
( let u all into a little secret: I love my lingo to bits ) my work saving scheme shares mature after 5 yrs in feb and hopefully I will buy a tool ( caterham ) . BUT I WILL keep my lingo! couldn't ask for a better tool for my kids.

Chris xxxx
A good quiet tyre I have used is goodyear efficient grip, mid priced , good handling and one of the quietest tyres out there.
Lots of the on-line tyre guides give the totally wrong size as you have seen.

The correct tyre is the 185/65/15 - It should also be confirmed on the sticker on the inside of your door.
