Partner TU3 - XU7 conversion-contacts not matching(not suprisingly)

Hello! I'm from Norway, and need some advice with my Partner.

I've replaced the old TU engine with an XU7 from a 306.

The two multicontacs between engine and car fit together, but the pins is not matching. Does any here have any experience, or a diagram for the pins for both TU3 and XU7?

Does the immo need recoding/to be removed, or is possible that it will work it OK!?

Are you using the XU7 ECU? What year is the car?

Yes, complete engine loom and ECU for the XU. Car is 2001. Engine is from 98/99.

I tried to map the connectors on the TU3 loom back when I replaced my broken Tu3 with a not-so-broken one, but frankly... I couldn't find hardly anything that actually connected to the two round connectors...
(Besides the main relay, that is. I think that is connected to one of the two connectors)
That means that a lot of the connections are to the ECU. And that's a big problem because each model ECU has its own pinout.

If you have a multimeter, could you measure which pins on the ECU goes to the two connectors?
(Do it for both ECUs )
And tell us which ECUs you have...

Some are docmented in the Haynes book
Engine Management and fuel injection sytems
Pin tables and wiring diagrams
Volume 1 - Alfa Romeo to Mazda
(Professional techbook 3558. I happen to have this book... )

It may be easier to pick up an engine loom from a XU that came from a Berlingo...
(Must of course match the ECU)

Have tried to trace the connectors from engine side, to the pins in the plugs with a multimeter, but the XU has more pins than the TU.
I also connected the right pins with loose wires, but no result.


The lights in the dash lights up, but when trying to crank, nothing happens. Lamp with door(?)and a key into flashes. If I only could get the thing up and running, it would be rather easy to get gauges to work.

Both ECU's is BOITIER(?)

Could it be 'Boitier SAGEM'?

Does the ECU connector have 2 or 3 rows of pins?

I'm worried that the only way to find out the correct pin-out is to find someone with a XU7 and the same ECU, and map the cable manually.

Ideally you should go get the "Texton box" from the 306. It's under the centre ashtray in front of the gear lever - remove the console to unscrew. This unit is paired with the engine ECU to act as immobiliser/unlocker. This is what it looks like: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/vi...p?p=233053 - take some wire with the plugs as well.

Does the Berlingo have a BSI or separate fuses/relays?

Yes, Boitier Sagem. As long as I remember, the ECU's has both 3 rows.

I'l try to get the Texton unit.. but it is impossible to "bypass" the immobilizer on these ECU's? Know from having both Audi A6 and Opel Omega, that the A6 could be fitted with a "immo-emulator", and the Omega only needed to have one wire cut.
I know this is cheating, but it would have helped me alot.


Stupid me - tought this would be an pretty easy match, compared with my other project: 309GT(not GTITongue) going to get D6C Mi16 power! Wrong wrong wrongTongue

A friend of mine always says: Cut all the wires and put on carbsTongue

I'm also going to get som advice from a local hero/friend, who is leader of peugeot sport club norway. Will update here when things are happening.

BTW, whats BSI? And difference between BSI and fusebox?!

BSI = Berlingo Systems Interface
On models before 2000 (I think) the fusebox under the dash was just a block of fuses, with a heap of connectors on the other side.
After 2000 it suddenly got electronics. The central/remote locking and other systems was integrated into this box.

Because of this change in electronics, it may be easier to do massive changes(such as swapping in a completely different engine/ECU) on older cars...

RPO / ORGA Nr 8600 was the change point (officially) for Berlingi.

I've done XU10 into Berlingo, so I can probably help but am asking questions to better finetune the information. Bosch MP5.1 ECU?
