If your looking for cheap have you thought about trying a scrappy?

The hdi engine is common to several cars/vans.

Be careful on ebay and make sure your buying from a uk seller (If you click on someones feedback score, it will tell you were they registered the account from) there are a lot of fakes on ebay.

Failing that ring around ecp/gsf/local motor factors to see which one is cheapest.

Check the earth is ok to the airflow meter, they have a habit of dropping out which has the same effect, buying parts doesn't always prove cost effective Wink

when i got my 02 berlingo 1.9d it was the same,30mph is all it was doing. I got a fault test done on it and it came back as air flow meter faulty on it, so my garage told me to clean it with electrical contact cleaner and leave to dry for half an hour before fitting it back,, i did what was told and the difference was massive, so i recommend you do the same, do not touch the sensors with your fingers as it will damage them, now my berlingo is doing about 46mpg. the sensor is responsable for sending back signals to the carb for increasing or decreasing the ratio of air to fuel mix,, make sure your air filter is clean or new
