Advice on rear axel
#1
Hi,the back end on my 04 desire has dropped down the n/s arm is crushing the rubber stop the o/s is just touching it. I've had a look around the axel and can't see any visible damage ,with the car jacked up and wheels off i can pull the n/s arm up easier than the o/s.Thought it may be shocks but i disconnected the bottom bolts and moved them up and down both seem quite even. Would this be the sign of a worn out/broken axel ? any advice would be appreciated, before i order a recon unit.
Cheers,Bob

More likely a broken torsion bar as that's the spring for the rear

The best thing to do is get recon or new rear axle i think they do them with grease nipple's to stop them going dry and failing Confusedalut:

Just buy a torsion bar for less than 100 quid, no need to spend 200+ quid on an axle!
