Locking doors with boot open
#1
Hi, Is it possible to lock the car doors while the boot is open please (09) 1.6 XTR Diesel? I often need to leave the boot open for the dog, but I don't like the idea of having to leave the other doors unlocked.

I do own the car, so yes I can try, if you could tell me how to isolate the boot. Is there a special sequence with the key? or is there an isolation switch?

Just lock the latch and it will lock as usual, but you will need to in latch it when you want to shut it again

Easiest way is to use a screwdriver or key to push the rotating section of the barrel around until it clicks (it may need to click twice if it's like a door catch)

Hope this helps

On my mk2, I just open the boot and lock the car using the remote key as normal.

Job done

There was a thread about this in the past.

I thought you just locked the car with the fob, then used the key to unlock the boot and the rest of the car and immobiliser are as normal..

If not, do a search. There was a post and simple solution as someone wanted to leave the boot part way open for a dog.

I don't think I can do this on my mk3 as the boot doesn't have a keyhole.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4
2010 (B9) Berlingo Multispace XTR HDi 112 - Kyanos Blue
Previously - 2002 (M49) Berlingo Multispace 2.0 HDi Diesel - Arctic Steel

There is no keyhole

You manually turn the catch on the bottom of the tailgate - you can use your finger, but it safer to use something else

Make sure you pull on the opening handle above the number plate to release the catch before closing the tailgate though
