Battery Disconnection
Hi Chaps.

05 reg bingo 1.9d

I could do with a bit of advice regarding disconnection of the battery for storage of the vehicle, My fear is that it will not boot up on re-connection and i will have problems with the central locking syncronization. The other option is to leave it powered on, but in the past i had a peugeot 406 which was only nine months old and was completely destroyed by an electrical fault.

Thanks phil
You can safely remove it. The code is not stored in power loss
erasable part of ECU memory.
It'll be fine, if you can leave the drivers window open so you can flick the sidelights on thru the window without opening the door, this starts the bsi up in a proper manner after reconnecting the battery
Thanks for the replies, but the bingo would be stored outside and it is not
possible to leave the window open. The more i think of it modern cars cannot
be switched on and off like old ones, I don't have this problem on my
BX it has no brain for me to worry about.
Don't want plug and play just switch on and go.
Open the door before reconnecting the battery and have the graceful assistant flick the sidelights on when you tell them, voila, then after ten seconds have them turn the ignition on, start the engine and job done, resync the key if needs be and job done...
