Mk1 Berlingo

Link to a reasonable-sounding Mk1 Berlingo for sale in Gloucestershire.

I've not seen it, but have had a couple of emails with the owner and it sounds good, esp for the asking price. They're looking for a quick sale too... Wink

We have one just like it but my wife has said we can't have another, even though this one sounds better than ours....

Pity it's petrol.

Only if you're doing a big mileage I'd've thought given that diesel is so much dearer than petrol?

What's the difference in MPG?
Diesel up to 50mpg.
Petrol up to ?? mpg?

Is it deffinatly a petrol if the engine size 1761
What's the milage?
Not expensive at £600 though.

Not expensive at all if it's at all decent. The bloke says everything works and was worth a trip down from Yorkshire to buy and seems decent sort.

There's a Wiki page on Berlingos, and another on the engines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_Berlingo) if that's any help.

No idea of mpg - our 1.4 does about 35 I think, I don't suppose the 1.8 petrol will do much less as it'll be less stressed and in the real world the diesel will do mpg? No idea, but am sure someone will be able to tell you.

Good point about the mileage - hadn't thought to ask that one as I was told by my other half not to bother going any further with my cunning plan (which was to either swap it over for our car, or swap over the roof (which is fab and if you do buy it make sure it is greased on a regular basis) and scrap it if the rest of the car wasn't as good as described).

The vendor is looking to return to Europe and I think may well take less than £600 - it was originally up at £1150 or so I think - as they want to sell quickly.

But, our car has done 120k miles and is fine, so they'll do big mileages no problem.
