BreakDown Post
Right, my thinking with this post is, if anyone breaks down in their MK3 Berlingo, post the break down reason and the mileage it happened at, then it would help newer owners catch breakdowns before they happen. either saving money or risk to life at the side of a main road Smile idea?

48500mls no break downs (touch wood)

The only problem with this is the vast majority of breakdowns occur because people neglect servicing/ignore warning lights/weird noises.

true, but it'd show what wears, like turbos, so extra care can be given to them

Any fleet managers out there ???

Not much chance of a report otherwise I'd say, sorry.

just fixed funny squeaking noise it was the spare wheel and carrier the bolt wasnt tight
29,000 miles leaking o ring on oil pump causing a drip every now and then, £6 part, £400-£600 to replace it as cambelt, sump, exhaust, subframe etc has to come off, only noticed it as engine undertray was missing. 32,000 miles ABS intermittent fault- faulty relay on front of fuse box and not complete abs ecu as citroen said. 35,000 miles anti pollution fault warning and low fuel pressure warning- fuel filter blockage and not complete fuel pump as citroen said. 42,000 miles chirping fan belt- replaced belt and tensioners and still the same- cure "athletes foot powder" on belt. not one fault since, now on 65,000 miles

yes me.
ours only runs on Vpower diesel, and we're on 48,000mls with no issues, but that is since 11th November 2013, its a 63 plate 90, i'll keep my eye on the belts and turbo looking at the above so far

Only breakdown in 60k miles/5.5yrs from new is egr failure at 3.5yrs. The flap broke off inside causing valve being open all the time. Just about got car home & require AA tow to Cit garage. It was 6mths out of warranty & after 'robust' email exchange with Cit UK they refunded £300 of £520 bill as 'goodwill'. I got the old part to try & acertain reason for failure. I emailed pictures to the maker Valeo UK hq It was well black & coked up. They asked if I had been using supermkt fuel suggested as possible cause & indeed I had always filled at Tesco, even on long trips I dropped off motorway to fill at supermkt rather than pay on motorway prices. AA man asked same question & so did my Cit service man. Since then I have always used branded fuel. Thats it.
